Anna Soubry is absolutely nuts! Watch the video below and tell me you don’t agree. Anna is one of those people that cannot get it into her head that Britain is leaving the EU; she can’t understand that the decision was made on political grounds, not economic grounds.
Europe plans for their future is to have a European Army, all members will have to join the single currency, a European foreign minister with one foreign policy that all members will have to follow. The only way that Europe can have any of these things is by getting rid of member state veto powers, otherwise, they will never come to any decisions. Britain could never accept any of this; leaving is our only option, the arguments have gone on long enough. Why doesn’t Anna Soubry or any of the other anti-Brexit MP’s accept what people have voted for?
This whole mess needs to be brought to a stop! You see Lord Adonis, Michael Heseltine, Phillip Hammond, Amber Rudd, etc.. etc… etc all acting as though the referendum never took place. How dare they, they are elected by their constituents (except Heseltine and Adonis) to look after their constituents interests and everyone said that they would be bound by the referendum results; why can’t they understand this? They should be deselected by their local parties and in the case of Heseltine and Adonis, they are just irrelevant, the Lords have to accept what the commons want!
Theresa May is dithering, can’t believe she cannot sack Phillip Hammond, she needs to get control of the Government and end the confusion. Telling the public that we are leaving is not enough. We need to know exactly what she wants the end state to be, European Union officials have no difficulty making it clear that they expect us to just accept their rules without having any say in them! We should make it clear that we have no intention of accepting that! The transition should be when we start taking control and setting up new trade deals with other countries. It looks as though there is not going to be a change of leader any time soon, Theresa May should, at the very least bring a strong Brexiteer in to get the Government going in the right direction. Jacob Rees Mogg would be a great addition to the Government and I’m sure he would fight hard for Britain!
He is by far the best person to lead the country through Brexit, Theresa May is to weak. We need someone like Jacob Rees-Mogg; he is the only person that can get the job done! Sick to death of all the cabinet messing around on this. Hammond should be sacked, Rudd should be sacked, we need a cabinet full of Brexiteers so that we can get on with it, poor old Davis is having to try and stay within what the cabinet will allow, I’m sure he would rather be in a cabinet of Brexiteers to make his job a lot easier. Theresa May has messed up big time, she needs to resign and advice the Queen to call for JRM to form a government that can get us out of the EU with or without a deal, on better terms than we are currently heading towards.
Hammond is an idiot, needs to go as soon as possible!
What idiocy, to take the public for granted and introduce complicated policies, all because she thought she was going to have a massive majority and she would be able to get anything through. Theresa May has made it almost certain that Brexit will be watered down, possibly there will be a Labour Government by the end of the year.
The only way to stop the nightmare will be to change the leader and have another Election, the sooner the better!
President Trump said today that he is not tied to a two state solution. How is that going to look to the Palestinians? If they are not going to reach an end point where they have their own state, what is the point of them going on with the peace process?
If the Trump Whitehouse follows this path, they have lost an opportunity to be the straight talking, no bull peace-brokers that I hoped they would be. Donald Trump had all the cards in his hands, he does not owe anyone anything, he is a Washington outsider. Why can’t he just tell Netanyahu how it is:
Your settlements are illegal
You are occupying land that does not belong to Israel
You have punched above your weight for the past 50 odd years
The U.S will be your ally but an honest ally
Israel behaves the way it does because America sits back and allows it to. As soon as the U.S starts treating Israel in a proper way, expecting it to act responsibly etc.. Israel will have to change the way it treats the Palestinians.
The Palestinians are not innocent bystanders, they have to recognise Israel and accept it’s right to exist. Crack down on terrorism and cooperate with Israel on security issues. The only real solution will be an Israeli state and a Palestinian state, anything else will not work and will not last.
Today it was revealed that two schools in England have agreed to be part of a trial for the use of body cameras in classrooms. The cameras will be worn by teachers and will only be activated when the teacher feels the situation warrants it.
Mary Bousted, general secretary at the Association of Teachers and Lecturers (ATL), said the union did not support the use of surveillance technology to monitor children and staff.” All schools should be safe places for pupils and staff,”she said.”The evidence suggests that the best way to ensure children behave well in schools is for schools to have a good behaviour policy which is accepted by all staff and parents and is consistently applied in the school with sanctions all the pupils understand. If schools have good behaviour policies they should not have to resort to using body cameras or CCTV. We would not support schools being turned into prisons. CCTV can have a useful role in monitoring entrances and exits to schools to prevent strangers gaining access or vandalism, but we do not support their use in schools to monitor children and staff.”
According to The Guardian a department for Education spokeswoman said that it was, “a matter for the school.” and “The schools are acting within the law as far as we know, but we haven’t investigated this matter,”
Mary Bousted is living in dream land, blaming a schools policies for bad behavior is a joke. It does not matter what the policy is or whether it is “understood” by pupils, pupils do not care as long as they can deny what they are accused of. Cameras in class is a great idea but I would say that it should not be up to the teacher to activate the recording process. The camera should be placed in the ceiling and should be on all the time. I am sure that parents would support it, why not, if your children are well behaved and have been brought up to respect their teachers, there should not be a problem.
It is a sad state of affairs when cameras are needed in classrooms but that is the situation we are in, it is no good wishing things were different. Schools have to live with the reality and deal with it.
John Bercow should either resign or be removed from his position as Speaker of the House of Commons. The speaker should be impartial and should not make remarks that could cause embarrassment to the Government of the day.
John Bercow has made the most unbelievably political remarks for a Speaker and I cannot see how he can carry on. He is commenting on the immigration policy of another country. How can he stay as Speaker?
He should be forced to stand in Parliament and apologize for his remarks. The band-wagon around Donald Trump knows no bounds, even people in positions like John Bercow seem to want some of the action and grab headlines. What a pity The Speaker of the House of Commons couldn’t remain dignified and impartial, he has shamed Britain by being so ridiculous.
Theresa May should make it clear to Benjamin Netanyahu that Britain is against further Israeli settlements in the occupied territories. Israel has been doing exactly what it wants for years and years. How can they say they want peace with the Arab nations and continue to behave like this.
The United Nations on 22nd March 1979 made itself very clear “that the policy and practices of Israel in establishing settlements in the Palestinian and other Arab territories occupied since 1967 have no legal validity and constitute a serious obstruction to achieving a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in the Middle East” It does not matter how many resolutions the international community passes, as long as Israel has the unbending support of the U.S, they will continue to do as they wish.
It is time now for the U.S to show the rest of the world, especially the Arab world that they treat all countries according to their actions. Donald Trump has a chance to change the Arab view of America by using his influence to change the direction that Israel is going in. Until the U.S lean heavily on Israel, Israel will continue to frustrate peace.
I am not against Israel, the fact that Israel has managed to survive and be strong while being surrounded by enemies is something that they should be proud of but for their own sake, it is time to seriously commit to the peace process.
The judge that decided to halt President Trumps policy banning admittance to the US from 7 mainly Muslim countries was wrong.
The policy which he ruled illegal was passed by Congress and Congress gave the president “the unreviewable authority to suspend the admission of any class of visitor”. I may be simple-minded but to my way of thinking, if something is voted in by the representatives of the people, in a democracy that means that it becomes the policy.
The only way this should be debated is whether it is constitutional and this would have to be examined by the Supreme Court. If they find that it is unconstitutional then fine, but for a judge to second guess Congress is wrong.
What is our country coming to when a judge can halt a Homeland Security travel ban and anyone, even with bad intentions, can come into U.S.?
It is all very well for people to be complaining about this policy and I understand why. I bet the people of France wish that their Government had taken strong actions to protect them, perhaps their security situation would be better than it is at the moment. I personally would welcome strong actions to protect Britain if the Government felt that it was necessary. As long as there are safeguards in place to ensure that the Government is not acting as a dictator.
